Wikipedia is the 10th-most-visited website on earth, but when it comes to Africa, there is a scarcity of information for an entire continent of one billion people. As Wikipedia marks its 20th anniversary in 2021, an initiative launched by the Moleskine Foundation is supporting young people across Africa in creating content about Africa on Wikipedia, including the translation of more than 200 pieces of COVID-19 information into 17 African languages.
PKPR has secured coverage of the project in Reuters, David Byrne’s Reasons To Be Cheerful, Global Citizen, TechRadar, Christian Science Monitor, Inside Philanthropy, World Economic Forum, The Daily Mail, Courrier International, Good News Network, The New Activist, and Global Times.
