Springboard in Newsweek

Minnesota’s Guaranteed Income for Artists pilot is making waves with a significant expansion. The program, operated by Springboard for the Arts, will now continue monthly $500 no-strings-attached payments for a total of five years for all participants, add 25 rural artists, and offer “wrap-around” support services including personal finance and housing counseling. This enhancement makes it one of the longest guaranteed income trials in the U.S., aiming to produce robust research demonstrating impact that drives policy changes for future government-run and funded programs.
