Wall Street Journal Feature on The Moth

PKPR worked closely with Wall Street Journal columnist Ralph Gardner on a wonderful feature on The Moth’s new storytelling program for high school students.

For the in depth story in today’s Wall Street Journal, we provided Gardner and photographer Keith Bradford with exclusive access to the The Moth’s High School StorySLAM at Manhattan’s Beacon School last month. The result is a moving look at what happens when eight high school students get up on stage with no notes and share deeply personal stories with an audience of their peers.

As Gardner writes: “There’s a lovely intimate, transgressive element about it all, enabled by a feeling of safety. Indeed, it may be the definition of friendship.”
