Aiming to help business eradicate forced labor from their supply chains, the White House last month announced a range of efforts to combat human trafficking including the launch of Made In A Free World, the first program of its kind aimed at helping companies ensure that no forced labor is used at any point in the creation of their products.
Made in A Free World was created by PKPR client Slavery Footprint with support and input from the State Department, leading NGOs, Dun and Bradstreet, and Ariba.
The news was announced in conjunction with President Barack Obama’s speech at the Clinton Global Initiative in September on ending modern slavery, where he singled out Slavery Footprint’s work: “Consumers can help by visiting slaveryfootprint.org. Speak up and insist our products aren’t made of forced labor.”
PKPR secured coverage for the launch of Made in a Free World in outlets from Fast Company to Take Part, as well as key industry trade publications covering supply chain management such as Human Resource Executive, Supply Chain Management Review, and Material Handling & Logistics.
